INDABA MUSIC
Following up Lawrence Lessig’s remix-tastic appearance on the Colbert Report earlier in January, Indaba Music’s Dan Zaccagnino will be chatting with Stephen tonight about Indaba’s remix and online collaboration community. If you’re looking to create your own Colbert remix or just listen to some more, head over to the page on Indaba Music that is hosting CC licensed audio samples from the show.
The Colbert Report airs on Comedy Central at 11:30pm / 10:30c but will be available tomorrow to watch online.
Stephen Colbert's riffing about remix culture continued last night, with IndabaMusic co-founder Dan Zaccagnino's appearance on the Colbert Report. (Indaba Music is one of many online music collaboration sites we've profiled that offer artists and labels new ways to interact with fans -- really interact with them, by giving them easy ways to remix and redistribute content.)
As with last month's Lessig interview, Colbert's tongue-in-cheek demand that people not remix his words resulted in viewers taking up the gauntlet once again, this time using Indaba Music's online collaboration application.
The gambit paid off handsomely once again for Colbert, who had hundreds of fans create free content that earns him an extra round of attention whenever someone reposts the resulting videos (not to mention all the viral marketing that people do when they forward their creations to their friends).
