1 Dead, Hundreds Stranded on Ice Floe Floating Away From Lake Erie Shore
At least 200 people stranded on ice floe; 1 dead
Up to 500 being rescued from ice floe
Officials feared the ice would quickly melt since temperatures in the area were expected to reach up to 50 degrees F. Winds of 20-30 mph were moving the ice floe farther out into Lake Erie.
